I recently read this interesting article: What Can We Learn from Barnes & Noble’s Surprising Turnaround?
For some unconscious reason, I remembered Nyxt and Atlas.
Bookstores and browsers are very different businesses. But, I can think of some similarities described on the article: the challenge of building financial sustainability, competition with big guys (Amazon for them, Microsoft, Google, Apple for Nyxt), the philosophy of putting users’ interest first, good taste, passionate leaders, bravery to try a different path/approach, originality, and decentralization by design.
There was also an interesting discussion on Hacker News about it.
I hope Atlas/Nyxt will thrive as Barnes and Noble seem to be doing!
